a. ensure

b. assure

c. insure

All three words can mean to make sure of something, but they are not fully interchangeable.

  • Ensure is the general term for making sure something will happen and usually implies a specific action:
I drove in extra pegs to ensure the tent would stay up in the wind.
  • Insure usually refers specifically to financial transactions with contracts
I insured my car to protect my finances in case of an accident.
  • Assure usually refers to emotional support:
The teacher assured the students the test wouldn’t be too hard.

So, it’s:
I assure you, I will insure my car to ensure I’m covered in case of an accident.
